Kelley's Winter/ Spring 2015 Class Schedule


Listed below are the herbal classes that Kelley is offering at different locations in Vermont throughout the spring of 2015.

Kelley will be offering workshops once a week at Smuggler's Notch every Tuesday from December 2014 through April 1st, 2015. She also regularly teaches at Champlain Valley High School in Hinesburg.

HOT CHOCOLATE FROM AROUND THE WORLD!

Chocolate has been used since the days of the Aztec and Mayan people, where they believed that this sweet treat was a source of spiritual wisdom, energy and power. Come tantalize your taste buds and awaken your senses as you learn how to combine chocolate with spices and herbs! Join Kelley Robie, of Horsetail Herbs, in this decadent class to keep you warm all winter! We will talk about the health benefits of chocolate, spices and herbs, and make some amazing hot chocolates from around the world. You will receive tons of recipes and take home 3 hot chocolate blends.

Learn to make the finest medicinal and culinary spirits for those cold winter nights! We’ll delve into the craft of blending the complex flavors of herbs, spices, & fruits with spirits for healing and pleasure. We will explore some history, have a few tastes and then everyone will prepare their own. 21 years & older.

Do you love playing with color? Join Kelley Robie, of Horsetail Herbs, as we create natural, colorful cosmetics for you face. We will explore healthy alternative ingredients as we make our cosmic creations! We will be making mineral eye shadow and blush, moody mascara, natural lipstick, and a facial bronzer. You will receive tons of recipes and your products to take home. Enjoy a splash of color for the summer!

LUSCIOUS LOTIONS & BODACIOUS BODY BUTTERS

Would you like to pamper your skin & body using only the finest natural ingredients? Join Kelley Robie, of Horsetail Herbs as we create formulas that will nourish, support and hydrate making you look and feel your very best! To keep your skin looking radiant we will be making two luxurious lotions for all skin types using pure essential oils to create heavenly scents. We will be making a soft and hard body butter to both protect and moisturize your skin. Discover your inner beauty as we teach you to care for your outer beauty!

MILK SOAP FROM SCRATCH!

In this hands-on class, learn how to create and make traditional, healthy hand made soap! Join Kelley Robie, of Horsetail Herbs, using herbs, spices, essential oils, plant based oils and other natural ingredients to make a batch of beautiful aromatic soap. This class will focus on the process of superfatting, and making milk soaps. Each student will go home with a soap sample to cut and age, as well as a handout containing detailed instructions. Recipes and ideas for customizing your own soap will be given. Please bring a quart paperboard milk or soy container for your soap mold and an old towel to wrap your fresh soap in. Get ready to make some suds! Ages 10 years and older.

March 19th, Thursday 6:00 – 9:00pm  $45

 

THE FABULOUS HERBAL FACIAL

A pampering treat for your face! This class focuses on the face & how to care for your special skin type with wonderful natural beauty products you can make yourself. Together we’ll make our own natural face care products & then indulge in a five-step facial. Recipes galore will be available to fit your skin type-come in stressed & go home relaxed & glowing! You will go home with four facial products. Please bring a large towel, bowl, & something to tie your hair back. This class is open to everyone.

April 16th, Thursday 6:00 - 8:00 pm  $35

 

PESTO, OILS & VINEGARS ~ HERBAL DELIGHTS FOR THE SPRING!

Ever wonder how they make those expensive herbal oils and vinegars? Join Kelley Robie of Horsetail Herbs and find out how it is done. This class is sure to surprise your senses of smell and taste! Indulge in Herbal Pesto for a taste explosion while we are making Herbal Oils and Vinegars using fresh herbs and spices! Be prepared to go home with tons of ideas and recipes! Your hand made creations will add a new flare to your kitchen cooking! Get ready to harvest those fresh spring greens!
